Ramban: The Jammu-Srinagar national highway remained closed for third consecutive day on Thursday owing to heavy rainfall and multiple landslides in Ramban and Udhampur districts even as the road clearance agencies speeded up the restoration work amid improvement in weather, officials said.

An official told the news agency KNO that with the improvement in weather after days of heavy rain across Jammu and Kashmir, road clearance operation was speeded up to restore traffic on the 270-km-long strategic highway– the only all-weather road linking Kashmir with rest of the country.
