J&K reports 25 new COVID-19 cases, one more death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 25 new COVID-19 cases and one death on Tuesday, officials said here.

With this, the cumulative infection tally in the union territory has climbed to 4,54,545 whereas the death toll rose to 4,754  — 2,424 in Kashmir division  and 2,330 in Jammu division — with one more fatality in Jammu, they said.

According to officials, 19 cases were reported from Jammu division and six from Kashmir Valley.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases for today, they said that Jammu district reported 18 cases, Srinagar district reported six cases and Udhampur reported one case while no other district across the UT reported any fresh case.

Currently there are 185 active cases in the union territory – 121 in Jammu division and 64 in Kashmir. So far 4,49,606 people have recovered from the disease, they said. This includes eight more COVID-19 patients – four each from twin divisions — who were discharged from various hospitals in the last 24 hours after their recuperation.

There are total of 51 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the union territory, they added.

On vaccination, they informed that 5,113 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,31,93,991.
