JKTPO organizes workshop for HAUSLA, JKRLM women entrepreneurs

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) organized a comprehensive workshop and networking session for HAUSLA and JKRLM women entrepreneurs, Self-Help Groups and Cluster Level Federations.

Managing Director, JKTPO, Dr Devansh Yadav, briefed about broad contours of Hausla initiative besides highlighting the objective and efforts being put in by the organization to make this initiative a grand success.

The prime objective of JKTPO under Hausla is to build an ecosystem for women entrepreneurs of the UT by facilitating them with proper training, mentoring, marketing support and B2B meets besides ensuring their handholding enables them to achieve success in their business.

Mission Director, Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM), Indu Kanwal Chib, elaborated on the structure of JKRLM saying that the Mission has a workforce of 5.5 lakh women, 60000 Self Help Groups and 500 cluster-level federations. She added that it is being planned to add 18000 more SHGs in the next couple of years. She mentioned that SHG will also take up service sector and provide services like cloud kitchen, tuition, tiffin service, daycare and other services.

JKTPO and JKRLM conducted collaborative sessions on Business accounting and B2B logistics for JKRLM women with Hausla members to explore business opportunities among them. Sectoral-focused Business to Business meets helped women to connect with relevant entrepreneurs in their respective fields and explore business opportunities.

More than 60 women entrepreneurs attended the meeting physically from almost all districts of Jammu division while women from the Kashmir division joined the meeting virtually.

During the event, Agriculture and Food Processing, Handloom and Handicraft, Apparel/Clothing and Jewellery/Jewellery Design were the focused sectors.

Pertinently, JKTPO regularly organizes and participates in various activities like buyer-seller meets, trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences and seminars at the national and international levels for registered members and hausla women entrepreneurs. For participation in these events, startups, exporters, entrepreneurs and sellers from J&K can register themselves on JKTPO’s portal.
