Srinagar: Two hybrid terrorists were arrested today from Sopore area and arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession, police said.

A police spokesman said that at about 1940 hours, a joint naka was established by police and 52 RR at Gurseer in the jurisdiction of police station Tarzoo, Sopore.

“During checking, a suspicious movement of two persons coming from Darpora Delina towards Seer was noted and they were subsequently asked to stop,” the spokesman said, adding, they tried to flee from the spot but were tactfully apprehended by the security forces.

“Upon their personal search 02 pistols, 02 magazines and 05 pistol rounds were recovered from their possession. During preliminary questioning, they revealed their identify as Faizan Ahmad Paul, S/0, Fayaz Ahmad Paul, R/0, Pinjoora Shopian and Muzamil Rashid Mir, S/0, Abdul Rashid Mir of Aarihal pulwama,” the spokesman said.

He said that the preliminary investigations have revealed the arrested persons as hybrid terrorist of proscribed organization LET/TRF and they were in a constant search of an opportunity to carry out attacks on security forces and civilians including outside labourers.

“Accordingly FIR has been registered at Police station Tarzoo under relevant sections of law,” said the spokesman.
