Four militants killed in Kulgam encounter

Kupwara: Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were killed in an ongoing anti-militancy operation in Chaktaras-Kadi area of North kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday morning, officials said.

A top official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the militants encircled during a joint cordon and search operation of the police and Army in the said area.

”The hiding militants fired indiscriminately upon the search party, which retaliated effectively leading to an encounter in which two Militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba including one Pakistani militant identified as Tufail were killed while the Search operation is still going on, “the official said.

This was the second encounter in North Kashmir in less than 24 hours. Late last evening, a Pakistani, LeT militant was killed in an encounter area sopore area.
