Dulloo reviews progress on Cluster Development Programme

SRINAGAR: Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture Production Department (APD), Atul Dulloo, today conducted a review meeting to assess progress on the Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Enterprises (PMFME) scheme at Civil Secretariat Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by  Secretary in APD, Shabnam Kamilli, Secretary in Horticulture Department, Mohammad Akbar Wani, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary, Director Horticulture (Planning & Marketing), Vishesh Mahajan, Director Horticulture Produce Marketing Corporation (HPMC), Shafat Sultan besides Director Agriculture Jammu, K K Sharma, Director Horticulture  Jammu, Ram Sevak, District Nodal officers, District Resource Persons (DRP) participated online.

Special Secretary APD, Mohammad Farooq Dar presented detailed information on objectives and achievements under PM-FME through Power Point Presentation.

While taking a detailed review of the scheme, the Additional Chief Secretary stressed on finalization of action plan under PM FME, 2022-23 and complete the process of establishing and operationalizing of Common Incubation Centers (CIC) by August, 2022. He directed to fill all vacancies of DRPs within one month. He instructed the concerned to prepare month-wise activity Calendar under “One District One Product (ODOP)” Projects. He further enjoined upon the Nodal Officers, District Nodal officers and DRPs to closely monitor the progress on projects under PM FME.

It was briefed that, under PM FME, loan has been sanctioned in favour of 61 projects and further 79 projects are in process in the UT.  Products under ODOP are being promoted for processing, value addition and branding as well as export.

Pertinently, the PM FME is aimed at establishing Micro Food Processing Industries at Micro/Village level through individuals, Self Help Groups (SHGs), Cooperatives and Farmers Producers Organizations (FPOs). Under the programme, 35 per cent subsidy/capital support with a ceiling of Rs 10 lakh is being provided to the beneficiaries.

Later, ACS also took detailed review of progress under Agriculture Infrastructure Fund and instructed the implementing departments and agencies for formulation of maximum projects under the scheme to strengthen agri sector.
