DC Bla presides over Mega Block Diwas at Sheeri Narwav

Sheeri: As part of the Public Outreach Programme and in order to take first-hand appraisal of the issues of general people at their doorsteps, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today visited Sheeri Narwav where she chaired a daylong Block Diwas Camp and listened to various issues and demands of people meant for the overall welfare and development of the area.

The programme witnessed the large participation of people from Sheeri, Malpora, Fatehgarah, Heevan and Gantmulla besides other adjoining areas of Tehsil Narwa.

Among others, the Public Grievance Redressal Camp was attended by Assistant Commissioner Baramulla, Yaar Ali Khan, Chief Education Officer Baramulla, G.M. Lone, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bashir Ahmad and District Information Officer Jahangir Akhoon besides other district and sectoral officers of the district. 

During the Grievance Redressal Camp, various public delegations and scores of individuals projected various developmental issues before the Deputy Commissioner and sought the timely resolution of their grievances and demands.

On the occasion, the people put forth several demands including macadamization and widening of link and main roads, upgradation of schools to high school in Sheeri, availability of dairy units, up-gradation of PHC Sheeri as sub-district hospital, fire station for Narwav area, grazing rights in forest areas, availability of forest timber, up-gradation of pumps and canals.

After giving a patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC assured them that all their issues and demands shall be taken with the concerned authorities for their timely redressal. 

Addressing the gathering, the DC said that the purpose of holding such grievance redressal Camps is to take an appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment for time-bound redressal.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that the administration is keen to streamline public service delivery and added that various developmental works are being identified and subsequently approved for their execution. 

On this occasion, students of Government Middle School Sheeri Payeen warmly welcome DC Baramulla who reached out to the people of Narvaw in Block Dewas Narvaw. She felicitated student Shahida Bano of BMS Sheeri Payeen for her national award in Inspire Award NANAK.
