Srinagar: Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh, chaired the 2nd meeting of the day with the senior police officers in which he reviewed the progress of the targets and goals set for the current year.

Special DG,CID R.R Swain, Special DG Crime, A. K. Choudhary, Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF H. K. Lohia, ADGsP S. J. M. Gillani, T. Namgyal, M. K. Sinha, Sunil Kumar, Danesh Rana, IGsP Garib Dass, Vijay Kumar, Alok Kumar, DIG Central Kashmir Sujit Kumar, AIsG of PHQ, SSP Budgam, SP Ganderbal, SP Hqrs Srinagar attended the meeting at PHQ while as ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh range DIsG, and district SSsP attended the meeting through video conferencing.

While reviewing the progress of the targets/goals set for the current year, the DGP directed the officers to speed up their work and ensure that all the targets set for the year are achieved well in time. DGP directed the officers to work out measures to enhance transparency and accountability by taking action against the erring elements within the department. He stressed for transfer and change of personnel at Police Station levels so that efficiency in working is ensured.

Observing the need to decrease the crime pendency, the DGP directed that all the cases of special nature be reviewed by the range DIsG and district SSsP regularly and investigated under their direct supervision. He stressed for augmenting and modernizing the checking and Naka Points on National Highways and on inter district roads to keep a check on anti nationalelementsand criminals. He said that PHQ would provide every possible support and resources to augment and strengthen the investigations at district levels.

Singh directed for quick disposal of UAPA cases to ensure that cases are submitted for judicial determination within prescribed period. With regard to the terror violence cases, he stressed for regular follow-up and supervision of District SSsP. He stressed for dedicating teams under the DySP/inspector to investigate all important cases. Stressing for quality investigation of crime of special nature, the DGP directed for identifying the officers who will be given the work of supervision. The DGP directed for updating the data of anti-peace elements on daily bases.

He directed the officers to further strengthen and augment the intelligence as well as security grids in their respective areas for the safety and security of the people. He directed for intensified anti terror operations and said that all the suspicious elements that are providing any kind of support to terrorist activities should be kept under the radar to foil their attempts. Stringent action should be taken against the elements found involved in anti peace activities.

Referring to the welfare for NOKs of martyrs, the DGP directed for updating the database of the martyrs. He directed for conducting the quarterly meetings with NOKS by District SSsP/range DIsG with the families of martyrs and stressed for quick disposal of their grievances. He also directed for carrying out the skill development & employability related programmes for the wards and family members of martyrs. With regard to the infrastructure for Jawans and officers, the DGP emphasized on monitoring all ongoing work on a regular basis and stressed on completing the work in a time bound manner.

The senior officers briefed the DGP regarding various aspects of policing and measures taken to extend better police service to the people.
