HAS organises Eid Milan for orphan, destitute children in Baramulla

Baramulla: In order to felicitate the orphans and poor children in view of the auspicious occasion of Eid, Human Aid Society Kashmir on Thursday organized an ‘Eid Milan’ at Dak Bungalow in which poor and violence victim children sponsored by the social organization participated.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla Rayees Ahmad Bhat was chief guest while former Principal GDC Prof Ismail and former Director KU north camps Prof. Irshad Ahmad Wani were guests of honour on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Human Aid Society Bashir Ahmad Mir briefed about various activities carried out by the NGO as it always remains at the forefront in different welfare activities and relief operations.

He informed that the society is providing educational, social, economical and moral support to the children sponsored by it and sought special intervention from administration in strengthening the welfare of work of the social organization.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rayees Mohammad Bhat impressed upon the children to bring self confidence among them as they are equally potential like others.

“Being orphaned or poor is not a curse but you need to put more effort into making your careers and become better human beings,” he added.

Prof. Irshad Ahmad Wani urged the children to build their moral character, gain education and learn skills, rest leave up to Almighty in whose hand the fate of everyone is. 

“Taking birth as a poor or especially able should not be hindrance in achieving goals,” he added

Prof. Ismail shared personal life experiences with the students about education and briefed students about the challenges he faced while achieving his goals defying social and economic odds.

Patron Haji Karamat Qayoom highlighted the importance of such programs which he said are intended to give the students a feeling that they are not underprivileged or discriminated against.

Human Aid Society had arranged lunch for its sponsor wards students and they felicitated their sponsor wards with Eidi-  cash amount given on Eid to children besides  sweets were distributed among them by the chief guest SSP Baramulla flanked by guests of honour.
