Director Agri discusses strategies for implementation of agriculture export policy

Srinagar: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today inaugurated a one day awareness cum training programme under Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari campaign at Harwan, here. 

The program is devised to facilitate the inclusion of farmers in getting the benefits under Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and other agriculture related schemes.

During the inaugural address, the Director asked the farmers to contact the agriculture and allied departments for getting updated with the farmer friendly schemes launched by the department. He directed the field functionaries of the department to update farmers with scientific and latest information /techniques being implemented by the Department for uplifting of the farming community.

He also directed the staff involved with KCC and other schemes to provide full cooperation and helping hand to the farming community so that they benefit from the schemes being launched for their welfare. 

The Director appreciated the officers of district Srinagar for their role in motivating the farming community in adopting new techniques in the field of agriculture.

During the program, Chief Agriculture Officer, Srinagar Mohammad Younis Chowdhary gave a detailed presentation on status of physical achievements made under different schemes, status of mushroom/apiculture development works, progress of soil conservation works, progress under soil health card scheme and status of KCC/PM-Kisan and other flagship programs.

The program was attended by representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) besides a large gathering of farmers.

Later, the Director inspected various mushroom, apiculture units and other farmer’s fields at sub division Harwan and interacted with the progressive farmers.
