Director Agri discusses strategies for implementation of agriculture export policy

Anantnag: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited various areas of district Anantnag.

During the visit, the Director monitored the agriculture activities under oilseed mission and also took stock of the agriculture interventions in bee keeping offered by the Department and adopted by the farming community of the area.

While having interactive meetings with the farmers of the different villages, Director Agriculture reaffirmed the commitment to reach out to the farming community in every nook and corner of the valley. He said the department is putting all the efforts in making sure that all the latest technologies and interventions reach the farmers’ fields.

Iqbal also interacted with beneficiaries of demonstration plots of various crops laid out in the concerned areas and distributed the fertilizer and other inputs among them.

Director asked the officers/officials of the department to organize awareness programmes for the farmers so that modern interventions reach them on time. He said that awareness among the farming community with respect to the centrally sponsored schemes could play a big role in making the targets of development and socio-economic transformations of the farming community.

Later, the Director also visited the headworks of the Brengi canal.
