Baramulla: Three soldiers were injured in an initial exchange of fire between militants and security forces at Malwah area of Baramulla district on Thursday.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the search operation turned into an encounter shortly after the militants started firing towards the positions of the search party of security forces, which was retaliated.

Inspector General of Police, Vijay Kumar in a tweet said: “Exact location of encounter is Malwah area.

In the initial exchange of fire, 03 soldiers recieved minor injuries. Operation in progress. Further details shall follow,”
