Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) was launched in September 2020 with an aim to double the income of fish farmers and fishers in the country. It focuses on sustainable development of India’s fisheries sector and is a part of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson said that Fisheries Department Baramulla is a large platform where a large number of youth across the district are getting benefit. On the occasion, the Chairperson urged the youth to come forward to take benefits of the State and Centrally Sponsored welfare schemes meant for Socio-economic development.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Director Fisheries Department Baramulla Mohammad Shafi sought the need of mobile refrigerator Van for marketing during which Chairperson DDC Baramulla assured that the matter will be discussed with higher authorities for its timely issuance.
