Pattan: A man was killed and a woman injured in a scuffle over a land dispute in Pattan village of Baramulla district in north Kashmir.

Sources said that two neighbours had assembled to sort out some land dispute. During the meeting, the heated arguments between the parties soon ensued into a physical brawl, with the parties attacking each-other.

In the scuffle, 65-year-old Sonaullah Dar, son of Mohammad Ramzan Dar of Gundibrahim Pattan and a woman was injured, witnesses said.

“Both of them were evacuated to Trauma hospital, where Dar was declared brought dead. The injured woman was shifted to a Srinagar hospital for further treatment,” they added.

Confirming the incident, officials said that Dar’s body was handed over to his family after medico-legal formalities, while a case under section 302 has been registered in Police Station Pattan for further investigation.
