VC KVIB reviews progress of JKREGP, PMEGP schemes

Jammu: Vice Chairperson J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat today chaired a meeting to review the progress of J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) and Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme(PMEGP) in districts of Jammu Division.

While reviewing the physical and Financial achievements against the targets, Dr. Hina Bhat directed the officers of KVIB to motivate youth for availing benefits of different schemes implemented by KVIB across Jammu and Kashmir. She asked them to create awareness among the youths about the schemes of KVIB and benefits provided as per their qualifications so that they apply for relevant schemes.

Vice Chairperson, KVIB, appreciated the efforts of secretary/CEO, Divisional officers and all district officers of the Jammu division in achieving the targets under both schemes.

During the meeting, the Vice Chairperson was informed that during the current financial year, under JKREGP 446 units have been established involving margin money (Subsidy) of Rs. 12.818 crores, while as under PMERP Margin Money (Subsidy) of Rs. 57.52 crores have been released to 2260 units thus creating employment opportunities to 10756 persons/artisans.
