New Delhi: Union Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Officer, Dr. Jitendra Singh, today chaired the valedictory function of 3rd “Capacity Building Programme in Field Administration for Senior Officers of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS)” at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Massorie, Uttrakhand.

The two-week capacity building training course was launched on March 14th, 2022 for the third batch of JKAS senior officers which also included two senior officers from Ladakh.

Additional Secretary, DARPG, V Shrinivas, Director General, IMPARD, Saurabh Bhagat and other officers of J&K IMPARD attended the event.

In his valedictory address, Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized the importance of training for officers of J&K in ensuring people friendly governance. He stressed upon the participating officers to work hard to orient themselves to innovative ways of administration so that the common people experience satisfaction over their interface with the government.

Saurabh Bhagat presented the background of events leading to facilitation of Mid Career Training for senior officers of J&K government. He said that the deputation of senior JKAS officers for Mid Career Training is part of IMPARD response to the Kashmir Aelamia. “Kashmir Aelamia Declaration is an excellent example of collaboration between J&K IMPARD and Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG),” he added 

DG IMPARD also assured the participating officers that J&K IMPARD in its capacity as the apex training institute of J&K will always be there to serve JKAS officers as and when required. He informed that a deputation of 150 senior officers has been approved for training at LBSNAA during next financial year 2022-23 in addition to 91 officers already deputed to LBSNAA for training (including this 3rd batch).

Additional Secretary, DARPG, expressed pleasure over the initiative taken by the Government of India for facilitating JKAS officers to receive capacity building training at LBSNAA, Massorie, and NCGG, New Delhi. He also noted with satisfaction the role played by J&K IMPARD in nominating the officers and facilitating the arrangements for their training.

Professor Dr. Reva Sharma, Director Training (J) presented a vote of thanks. Earlier, Professor Dr. M. A. Khan, Director Training (K), presented details of initiatives taken by J&K IMPARD in facilitating Mid-Career Training for the senior officers of JKAS.
