Four districts of J&K log 17 new positive cases of COVID-19

Srinagar: Four districts of Jammu and Kashmir reported 17 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours even as no new virus-related death was reported, officials said Wednesday.

They said nine of the fresh cases were reported from Kashmir and eight from the Jammu division, taking the total number of positive cases detected so far in Jammu and Kashmir to 4,53,493.

Srinagar and Budgam districts in Kashmir division recorded eight and one fresh cases while as Jammu and Doda districts in Jammu division reported six and two fresh cases respectively. Rest of the districts reported no fresh case.

They said 39 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 22 from Jammu division and 17 from Kashmir.

No new case of mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 19,809 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,17,44,328.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,493 positive cases recorded cumulatively thus far in J&K, currently there are 163 active positive  cases in the UT including 106 in Kashmir and 57 in Jammu division, while 4,48,580 persons have recovered and 4,750 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and 2,327 in Jammu division.
