Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 12 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours even as no new virus-related death was reported during this period, officials said Monday.

Of the fresh cases, they said nine were reported from Jammu division and three from Kashmir division, taking the total number of positive cases recorded so far in Jammu and Kashmir to 4,53,460.

They also informed that 37 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 22 from Kashmir and 15 from Jammu division.

No new case of mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 14,872 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,17,11,745.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,53,460 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far in J&K, currently there are 217 active positive cases in the UT, including 125 in Kashmir and 92 in Jammu division, while as 4,48,493 persons have recovered and 4,750 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and2,327 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin informed that Srinagar and Baramulla reported two and one cases respectively while as, Budgam, Pulwama, Kupwara, Kulgam, Anantnag, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Shopian reported no fresh cases today.

Similarly, Jammu and Samba reported two cases each, Doda reported five new cases while as Poonch, Kathua, Rajouri, Reasi, Ramban, Kishtwar and Udhampur reported no fresh cases today.
