License, registration camp held at Fruit & Vegetable Mandi Parimpora

SRINAGAR: To promote ease of doing business and bring Food Business Operators under the ambit of Food Safety and Standards Act, a special License cum Registration Camp was today organized at Fruit and Vegetable Mandi Parimpora, here by Food Safety Wing of Drugs & Food Control Organization with the support of New Kashmir Fruit Association.

A total of 43 Licenses and 20 Registration Certificates were issued to various Food Business Operators on the spot, which mainly included the Wholesale Dealers of Fruits and Vegetables.

The members of Association were sensitized regarding the advisories issued by the Commissioner Food & Drugs Administration J&K on Artificial Ripening of Fruits and mandatory mentioning of FSSAI License Number on the Invoices.

They were also directed to keep their premises neat and clean and destroy the rotten fruits and vegetables themselves at the designated places.

The members of the New Kashmir Fruit Association appreciated ‘on the spot’ issuance of Licenses & Registration Certificates and assured to cooperate with the department in ensuring safe and wholesome fruits and vegetables to the consumers.

It was given out that as part of an ambitious campaign under Eat Right India, such facilitation cum awareness camps shall also be organized in other areas.
