Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday reported 42 new positive cases of novel coronavirus, even as no fresh virus-related death was reported in the last 24 hours, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, they said 22 were reported from Jammu division and 20 from Kashmir division, taking the total number of positive cases recorded so far in Jammu and Kashmir to 4,52,997.

They also said that 148 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 97 from Kashmir and 51 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) has been reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin informed that 6,805 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,15,06,765.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,52,997 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 682 active positive cases across the UT including 421 in Jammu division and 261 in Kashmir, while as 4,47,567 persons have recovered and 4,748 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and 2,325 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin informed that Srinagar and Baramulla districts reported six cases each, Kupwara reported two cases, Budgam reported three cases, Bandipora reported one case, Kulgam reported two cases while as Ganderbal, Shopian, Pulwama and Anantnag districts reported no fresh cases today.

Similarly, Jammu reported 11 cases, Udhampur and Kathua reported two cases each, Doda and Poonch reported three cases each, Ramban reported one case while as no fresh cases were reported in districts of Rajouri, Samba, Kishtwar and Reasi today.
