In his address, he said that the development is the basic need still being felt by this neglected region which has huge potential to generate employment as well as develop even the remotest place in Chenab Valley.

“However, the companies involved in power projects to generate electricity have ignored the Region. They take away electricity and leave the local residents in great economic distress with no scope for employment,” he said.

The Apni Party would not allow loot of the resources by the outsiders and they will be restricted if the Apni Party comes to power as our Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari has assured, said Syed Asgar Ali.

He said that the resources of J&K belong to the locals and no outsider will be allowed to exploit them. “The jobs will be reserved for the locals in projects, industrial sector and developmental works including highways,” he said.

He said that “Chenab Valley has huge potential to attract tourists but the Tourism Department has ignored it and the pictoric hills and views were hardly explored. The tourism department has also not developed proper accommodation and restaurants with modern facilities for the stay of the tourists coming from outside Chenab Valley.”

He said that the tourism sector is in worse condition and there is a need to revamp the sector to generate employment opportunities. Concerning the strengthening of the Apni Party, he reviewed the functioning and directed the leaders and workers to hold door to door campaigns and educate people about the policies and programmes of the Party.

He said that the people should know that the Apni Party is unlike traditional political parties which promoted religious and regional politics. “We believe in unity and equal development of all the regions,” he said and added that “Our focus would be more towards the underdeveloped regions to provide them equal scope of development in both Jammu as well as Kashmir Regions.”

District President Doda, Mohammed Asgar Khanday, Additional Spokesperson, Umar Malik, Vice President Trade Union JKAP, Sheikh Abdul Latif, senior leader Saleem Magray, Senior Vice President, Sohail Malik, District Vice President, Mohd Tayub, Vice President Sajid Ali Wani, Block President, Mohd Akbar, General Secretary, Surajeet Singh, Vice President District, Dr Fahad, District President Youth Wing, Basharat Ahmed and other important workers and office bearers were also present in the meeting.
