Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 75 fresh coronavirus cases  on Thursday, taking the infection count to 4,52,722, officials said.

The death toll remained unchanged at 4,748 as no fatality due to the virus was reported in the past 24 hours, they said.

Fifty-two of the fresh COVID-19 cases were from the Jammu division and 23 from the Kashmir division of the Union Territory, the officials said.

They said Doda district recorded a maximum of 22 new cases followed by 18 in Jammu district.

Moreover, 353 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 184 from Kashmir and 169 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours, officials said.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 20,550 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,14,48,989.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,52,722 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far in J&K, currently there 1,087 active positive  cases across the UT including 647 in Jammu division and 440 in Kashmir division, while as 4,46,887 persons have recovered and 4,748 have died – 2,423 in Kashmir and2,325 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin said that Srinagar reported 12 cases, Baramulla reported three cases, Budgam two cases, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Bandipora and Shopian reported no new fresh cases, while as Kupwara and Kulgam reported one and five fresh cases respectively.

Similarly, Jammu reported 18 cases, Reasi reported one new case while as Udhampur reported four cases, Doda reported 25 cases, Kathua reported five cases, Ramban reported two new cases, Samba, Poonch, Kishtwar and Rajouri reported no new cases.

India logs 14,148 new COVID cases, 302 fresh fatalities

India logged 14,148 new coronavirus infections, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,28,81,179, while the active cases dipped to 1,48,359, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.

The death toll climbed to 5,12,924 with 302 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The daily COVID-19 cases have remained below one lakh for 18 consecutive days.

The active cases comprise 0.35 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has further improved to 98.46 percent, the health ministry said.

A reduction of 16,163 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate was recorded as 1.22 percent while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 1.60 percent, according to the ministry.
