Dr Farooq, Omar pay tributes to Sheikh Nazir Ahmed on his 7th death anniversary

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah Wednesday paid glowing tributes to the party stalwart and former General Secretary JKNC Sheikh Nazir Ahmad on his 7th death anniversary saying his personal and political traits were emblematic of Sher-e-Kashmir life and struggle.

While paying glowing tributes to Nazir sahib, Dr Farooq termed him a conscientious and honest politician. “Nazir Sahab was brought into the mould of Sher-e-Kashmir’s life and struggle. Uncompromising on his principles and beliefs, which he had inherited from Sher-e-Kashmir, he was a strong spirited person. A go-to person for party workers and functionaries, Nazir sahib was affectionate towards them and accorded them supreme importance in all political matters,” he said.

Omar Abdullah while paying tributes to Nazir sahib said, “The void created by his passing away is unarguably hard to fill. His honesty and selflessness will continue to inspire us all. The best tribute to him on his death anniversary would be by imbibing the zest with which he served the party. His doors were always open for the party workers,” he said.

Among others Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Addl General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial Presidents Nasir Aslam Wani, Rattan Lal Gupta, Party MPs Muhammad Akbar Lone, Hasnain Masoodi; Senior Leaders AR Rather, Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Shafi Uri, Mubarak Gul, Sakina Itoo, Shameema Firdous, Mian Altaf Ahmed, Nazir Gurezi, Irfan Shah, Mir Saifullah Zone Presidents Javed Dar, Dr Basher Veeri, Ali Mohammad Dar, Provincial Secretary Showkat Mir, District Presidents, Political Advisor to VP Tanvir Sadiq, Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, YNC Presidents Salman Ali Sagar, Aijaz Jan; Social Media Head Sara Hayat Shah, Provincial functionaries, Women’s wing, YNC, Legal Cell and Media Cell functionaries have also paid rich tributes to the party stalwart Sheikh Nazir Sahib on his 7th death anniversary.
