SRINAGAR: The Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu & Kashmir State Centre in collaboration with Mechanical Engineering Department, Kashmir, conducted one day workshop on Mechanised Snow Clearance (Evolution, Process and Scope) today.

Principal Secretary, Public Works Department (PWD), Shailendra Kumar, e-inaugurated the workshop.

Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Athar Aamir Khan and Additional Commissioner, Abid Hussain, Chief Engineers, Corporate members of IEI, students and research scholars besides Engineers and other dignitaries were present.

Addressing the workshop, Shailendra Kumar appreciated the efforts of organizers for holding this unique workshop. He stressed that Mechanical Engineering needs to be properly utilized in all the sectors including hospital services for better public deliverance.

Dr. Raof Ahmad Khan (FIE), Chairman, IEI J&K State Centre, Srinagar, assured that our prestigious institution is committed to hold workshops, seminars and colloquiums which are beneficial to public in general and engineers in particular.

Commissioner SMC, apprised of the snow clearance operations being conducted by the department and stressed on effective use of all available resources for better pubic deliverance.

The program was coordinated by Engineer Ferdous Ahad Bhat, Honorary Secretary IEI.

Among others, Chief Engineer, PW (R&B) and Chief Engineer, PMGSY Kashmir also spoke on the occasion.

Rashid Ahmad Dar, Chief Engineer MED Kashmir, Mir Tanveer, Chief Engineer PMGSY, Abdul Rashid Bhat, Executive Engineer, Nadeem Akbar Najar, Mohammad Asif Khanday and Amaan Muhammad Qadri (IUST) were the key resource persons on the occasion.
