Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Sunday said that it won’t allow forces of disharmony to divide people in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that the party is working for unity among all communities with a common dream of having J&K’s democratic and constitutional rights restored.

This was, according to the NC spokesperson, stated by the Party Provincial President, Kashmir Nasir Aslam Wani today at Jagti Migrant camp Jammu, where he presided over a meet organised by NC Minority wing President MK Yogi. Senior leaders Mubarak Gul, PP Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta also spoke on the occasion. Among others who were present on the occasion include Peer Mohammad Hussain, Syed Tauqeer, Sheikh Rafi, Shafqat Watali, BL Bhat, Amit Koul, Naveen Gosani, Daisy Bazaz.

Nasir said the overwhelming narrative being propelled by the communal forces is to stir animosity between different communities but the people of J&K have decided not to fall prey to the divisive agenda of such forces. “Kashmir is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits. We in NC are also striving to bridge the divisions between different communities,” he said adding, “The bond between the two communities gave Kashmir its unique identity. Syncretic culture of Jammu and Kashmir, and Kashmir in particular, is an inseparable part of its unique identity.”

Nasir further said that ensuring permanent and dignified return of Kashmiri pandits to their places of birth is the centerpiece of party policy. “Pluralistic ethos and communal harmony have been the cultural mainstay of our shared history and that the party will continue to strive to protect it from the nefarious designs of communal forces who aim to vitiate it. We have been and will continue to work towards creating an enabling atmosphere for the community to return and live permanently in their places of birth,” he added.
