Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir added 1,606 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) to its tally in the last 24 hours while four more persons succumbed to the infection, officials said Saturday.
Of the fresh cases, 887 were from Jammu division and 719 from the Kashmir Valley, they said, and two deaths each were reported from the twin divisions of the UT.
They also said 5,019 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 3,853 from Kashmir and 1,166 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours.
Officials said that Srinagar reported 212 cases, Baramulla 113 cases, Budgam 75 cases, Pulwama 47 cases, Kupwara 63 cases, Anantnag 86 cases, Bandipora 45 cases, Ganderbal 35 cases, Kulgam 33cases and Shopian reported 10 fresh cases today.
They said that Jammu reported 307 cases, Reasi 09 cases for, Udhampur 46 cases, Rajouri 24 cases, Doda 259 cases, Kathua 24 cases, Samba 94 cases, Poonch 19 cases, Kishtwar 26 cases while as Ramban reported 79 fresh cases today.
No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.
On vaccination, the officials informed that 39,626 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K so far to 2,07,29,911.
They said out of 4,45,497 positive cases recorded cumulatively thus far across the UT, currently there are 20,663 active positive cases including 14,094 in Kashmir and 6,570 in Jammu division, while as 4,20,128 persons have recovered and 4,706 have died – 2,404 in Kashmir and 2,302 in Jammu division.
