Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday recorded 2,304 fresh cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), raising the cumulative infection tally to 4,40,480, officials said.
The union territory also reported nine fresh COVID deaths – five from Jammu division and four from Kashmir Division — which pushed the toll to 4,692, they said.
Of the fresh cases, 1,308 were reported from Kashmir and 996 were reported from the Jammu division, the officials said.
They said Jammu district recorded the highest of 443 cases, followed by 439 cases in Srinagar district.
In the last 24 hours, officials said 5,024 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 3,591 from Kashmir and 1,433 from Jammu division.
They also informed that no new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today.
On vaccination, the daily media bulletin informed that 45,345 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K so far to 2,05,74,791.
According to the bulletin, out of 4,40,480 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 29,829 active positive cases across the UT, including 21,282 in Kashmir and 8,547 in Jammu division, while as 4,05,959 have recovered and 4,692 have died – 2,398 in Kashmir and 2,294 in Jammu division.
Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases, the officials said that Srinagar reported 439 cases, Baramulla 190 cases, Budgam 167 cases, Pulwama 41 cases, Kupwara 131 cases, Anantnag 84 cases, Bandipora 57 cases, Ganderbal 53 cases, Kulgam 112 cases while as Shopian reported 34 fresh cases today.
In Jammu division, officials said, Jammu district reported 443 cases, Reasi 39 cases, Udhampur 120 cases, Rajouri 37 cases, Doda 104 cases, Kathua 36 cases, Samba 56 cases, Poonch 15 cases, Kishtwar 54 cases and Ramban 84 fresh cases.
