KU’s HRDC organises int’l webinar on ‘Publishing Journal Articles’

Srinagar: Kashmir University’s UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) organised a one-day international-level webinar on ‘Publishing Journal Articles’.

Professor Mike Thelwall, Professor of Data Science at Statistical Cybermetrics Research Group, University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, was the Chief Guest as well as Chief Resource Person on the occasion.

A renowned expert in the field of scholarly writing, Professor Thelwall has more than 40,000 citations and is associated with Publishing Giants like, Elsevier, Springer, Springer Nature, Oxford University Press, Taylor and Francis, IEEE, Cambridge University Press, American Psychological Association, Sage, Emerald, Wiley, and many more.

With an H-Index of 99 and I-10 Index of 408, Professor Thelwall spoke on the life cycle of scholarly articles and exposed the participants to various emerging tools and techniques that can help them to get their research papers published in the globally-acclaimed publishing houses. He also discussed the fundamentals of publishing and cleared several doubts regarding the quality publishing.

Professor Thelwall also focused on the areas that researchers need to keep in mind in order to make their work more impactful.

The guest speaker also held an interactive session with the participants that made the webinar more fruitful.

Director UGC-HRDC, Prof Mushtaq Ahmad Darzi spoke about the activities of HRDC in bringing the scholarly minds closer to the academia. He focused on the role that HRDC plays in enhancing the scholarly credentials of the teachers and scholars in the higher education arena. He also thanked the university authorities for their support to HRDC’s programmes and initiatives.

More than 250 participants from across the country joined the webinar, which ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Coordinator HRDC, Dr Sumeer Gul who also moderated the session.
