Baramulla: A day after two brothers from Bandipora drowned in river Jehlum at Baramulla as their sand-laden boat capsized, the body of the second missing person was fished out on Saturday after strenuous efforts of rescue teams.
As already reported two brothers identified as Hilal Ahmad Malla and Naseer Ahmad Malla, sons of Manzoor Ahmad Malla of Larwaghat Bandipora drowned in the river Jehlum during sand extraction at Khawajabagh area of Baramulla on Friday. While body of Hilal Ahmad Malla was retrieved yesterday, searches to locate the second brother were on till late last evening without any success.
The rescue teams resumed their operation on Saturday and fished out body of missing Naseer Ahmad Malla after hectic efforts.
The body was handed over to family after medico-legal formalities and people hailed the efforts of rescue teams of police, SDRF and locals involved in the operation.
