Srinagar: Police claimed to have arrested one drug peddler in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
“Officers from Police Post Reshipora apprehended one person at Railway Crossing Dogipora when he was moving in suspicious condition,” said a police spokesperson.
“During checking, officers were able to recover 1.1Kgs of grinded Cannabis concealed in a polythene bag from his possession. He has been identified as Mohd Marbool Dar son of Abdul Rehman Dar resident of Liddermud. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody,” the spokesperson said.
“Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 10/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated,” he said.
