Covid-19: Amid weekend restrictions, 6253 test positive in J&K

Srinagar: As the weekend Covid related restrictions continued in Jammu and Kashmir, the number of Covid-19 positive cases in the UT reached 397202 with 6253 fresh infections detected on Sunday, officials said.

They said that 4499 fresh cases were reported from Kashmir and 754 were reported from Jammu division while as 04 Covid related deaths were reported from Kashmir and 03 from Jammu division.

The officials said that out of 397202 positive cases, 42866are active positive (13233in Jammu division and 29633 in Kashmir division), 349731 have recovered and 4605 have died; 2249 in Jammu division and 2356 in Kashmir division.

Srinagar district reported the maximum number of fresh cases (1464) followed by Jammu district (1075), officials said.

They said that Baramulla reported 564 cases, Budgam 590 cases, Pulwama 150 cases, Kupwara 344 cases, Anantnag 578 cases,  Bandipora 261 cases, Ganderbal 320 cases, Kulgam 174 cases and Shopian reported 54 fresh cases today.

In Jammu division, officials said, Reasi reported 48 cases, Udhampur 115 cases, Rajouri 35 cases, Doda 140 cases, Kathua 83 cases, Samba 47 cases, Poonch 10 cases, Kishtwar 26 cases and Ramban reported 176 fresh cases.

The officials informed that 22,955doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,01,90,505.
