Covid, non-Covid activities to be carried out normally in hospitals across Kashmir: DHSK

Srinagar: The authorities on Saturday said that both Covid and non-Covid activities will continue to be carried out normally including routine OPDs and elective surgeries till further orders.

An order issued by Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) said that the decision to continue both Covid and non-Covid activities has been taken in consultation with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.

“In consultation with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, it has been decided that both COVID & Non COVID activities will continue to function normally, which includes routine OPDs & Elective Surgeries till further orders,” reads the order.

DHSK also impressed upon all the Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents and Block Medical Officers of Kashmir Division to adhere to COVID protocols and guidelines strictly while undertaking routine functions of the hospitals.

It stated that the decision about closure of routine OPDs and Elective Surgeries will be taken after taking into consideration the COVID situation as it evolves in the coming days.

Meanwhile, at least six doctors at Sub District Hospital Soporein Baramulla district tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, officials said here.

An official told KNS that at least six doctor have been tested positive for COVID-19 today. “The affected doctors might have contracted virus while examining the patients at the hospital,” he said.

Notably, Sopore has reported nearly 500 positive cases within a week’s time, including 15 Municipal Council officials.
