Div Com Kashmir visits Tertiary Health Care hospitals in Srinagar

Srinagar: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole on Saturday took an extensive tour of Tertiary Health Care Hospitals in Srinagar and PM Cares Covid DRDO Hospital to inspect covid containment measures in view of Omicron spread in the country.

Div Com visited SMHS Hospital, Lal Ded Maternity Hospital, Bone and Joint Hospital, Barzulla, and DRDO Hospital Khunmoh, Srinagar.

He was accompanied by Principal Government Medical College, Srinagar Samia Rashid, officers of Divisional Covid Control Room Kashmir and other officers.

While inspecting the covid containment measures at Hospitals, Div Com directed concerned Medical Superintendents to conduct covid tests of all patients and attendants in view of new covid variant, Omicron.

As the Omicron virus is spreading at alarming rate, Div Com enjoined on officers to increase the existing  number of  covid tests  to contain spread of new variant in the valley.

He directed officers that to enforce the wearing of masks by medical and paramedical staff besides patients and attendants in the health institutions.

Meanwhile, Div Com was apprised by Dr Samia about functioning of top health institutions in Srinagar, and the number of patients received by those hospitals on daily basis.

Div Com also reviewed facilities available for covid patients including availability of ventilator beds in hospitals, testing kits besides heating and other facilities. He also inspected the functioning of DRDO Hospital and the control room establishment in the hospital.
