Covid-19 cases keep on mounting in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 655 fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday, taking the virus tally to 3,43,965, while three fatalities due to the disease, 01 from Jammu and 02 from Kashmir Division, were reported from the Union Territory in the past 24 hours, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 392 were from the Jammu division and 263 from the Kashmir division, the officials said.

They said Jammu district recorded a maximum of 263 new COVID-19 cases, followed by 133 cases in Srinagar district.

There are 2,982 active cases in the Union Territory, while the count of recoveries now stands at 3,36,446, the officials said.

The new fatalities pushed the death toll from the pandemic to 4,537 in Jammu and Kashmir.

The officials said that that new case of Mucormycosis has been reported today, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 51 across J&K..

Providing district-wise breakup, officials said that Srinagar reported 133 fresh cases, Baramulla 41, Budgam 46, Pulwama 07, Kupwara 08, Anantnag 09, Bandipora 11, Ganderbal 04, Kulgam reported 04 cases while as Shopian reported no fresh case for today.

In Jammu division, Jammu district reported 263 cases, Reasi 15, Udhampur 17, Rajouri 14, Doda 10, Kathua 26, Samba 12, Poonch 31, Kishtwar 03 while as Ramban reported 01 fresh case for today.

On COVID vaccination, the bulletin informs that 63,311doses of COVID vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to1,92,70,289.
