SRINAGAR: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole today chaired a meeting regarding the proposed plans and present status of several major projects including Western Foreshore Road (WFR) Srinagar, Semi Ring Road (SRR) Phase-III and DPR of Rakhi Arath.

The meeting was attended by DC Srinagar; VC, J&K LCMA; Chief Town Planner; CE, PWD (R&B); Project Director, NHAI; Superintendent Engineer, LCMA Srinagar and other officers.

At the outset, NHAI and LCMA officers gave presentations of proposed plans for their respective projects. The NHAI gave four options of proposed Semi Ring Road Phase-III in Srinagar while LCMA gave the status of Road around Dal Lake, proposed plan for Western Foreshore Road and DPR of Rakhi Arath.

On occasion, Div Com directed NHAI officers to study Master plan of the City and three options of WFR to frame a complete, detailed and feasible plan for Semi Ring Road, Srinagar. He directed that the Semi Ring Road should be designed in accordance with the speed limit of 60 to 80 KMs for vehicles.

While reviewing the DPR of Rakhi Arath, Div Com directed concerned officers to demarcate the areas of utilities including schools, hospital, playground and other Town plan facilities. He directed them not to change areas of utilities once demarcation is completed.

Meanwhile, he directed for the designation of an officer for administrative purpose who would coordinate between various departments and stakeholders.

It was informed that the DPR of Rakh I Arath was sanctioned under cabinet decision on March 03, 2013 for a total cost of 416.72 Crores. The land transferred for rehabilitation of Dal and Nigin Dewellers is 7526 Kanals. Besides, the phase 1st of the colony is currently being developed for rehabilitation of Dal Dewellers.

Similarly, it was informed that the cost proposed for WFR under phase-I which includes construction cost, land acquisition and structure coming in alignment is Rs 707.5 cr while under phase -II cost of land acquisition and structure coming on the lake side by virtue of Road is Rs 675.75 cr.
