JK shines in senior National Wushu Championship

JAMMU: Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, today felicitated the medal winners of Senior National Wushu Championship held at Bhopal Madhya Pradesh recently.

Terming this as a token of appreciation for all the hard work that athletes have put in to bring laurels for the Union Territory of J&K, she reaffirmed administration’s commitment towards acknowledging all the good work that players, coaches and other team members pool in to shine at any given platform.

Secretary complimented Rajinder Singh, an ace Wushu player, for clinching gold medal in the event consequently for the fifth time at Senior National championship. She assured him all support from the J&K Sports Council and UT administration to harness his special talent to the fullest.

Meanwhile, Secretary felicitated Raya Chib for winning silver medal in women’s category besides honoring Ishant Singh, Abijeet Salathia, Naveed Farooq Mir, Showket Yousuf and Mohammed Maqsood Rather for bagging bronze medals in their specific categories in the event.

President Wushu Association J&K, Vijay Saraf, expressed gratitude to J&K government for providing best facilities as well as opportunities to Wushu players.

Kuldeep Handu, Dronacharya Awardee and National Wushu Coach also thanked the UT administration and Sports Council for providing best coaching facilities to the players.

Pertinently, all medal winners have been shortlisted for the national coaching camp scheduled to be held in Bhopal from 1st January 2022 at ASI Centre.
