Islamia College Srinagar closed till Dec 11 after staff members test COVID-19 positive

Srinagar: Administration at the Islamia College of Science and Commerce Srinagar on Tuesday ordered closure of the institution till December 11 after some staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

News agency GNS while quoting Principal ICSC, Prof Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, reported that the members tested positive for the virus today during a testing drive initiated by the college administration in view of the prevailing surge in COVID-19 cases.

“To avoid any further surge in cases, it is hereby ordered that the college will remain closed up to Saturday the 11th of December, 2021 for all kind of activities,” an order by the Principal reads, adding that upon re-opening of the college on Monday December 13,the students will attend the classes as per the timetable already notified.

During the closure of the college, the faculty members will conduct the classes in online mode through College LMS as per timetable in vogue.

Furthermore, all staff members have been asked to report on 10 December in the college for an RTPCR test while the students will also visit nearest health centre and get their RTPCR test done the same day.
