KU organises Medley Pharmaceuticals Award Ceremony

Srinagar: The Medley Pharmaceuticals award ceremony was on Monday held at Kashmir University’s Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, a press release issued here by the university said adding that Registrar, Dr Nisar A Mir, chaired the event.

The event was organised to felicitate and confer the Medley Gold medals (10 gram 22-carat) to five toppers from 2016 to 2020 batches of the Bachelor of Pharmacy degree programme. This award is a part of the academia-industry collaboration of the Department with Medley Pharmaceuticals Ltd., one of the country’s top pharmaceutical MNCs, the press release added.

The Medley Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has also sponsored the Medley Lab (Pharmaceutics) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and has remained one of the top campus recruiters for the pharma students of the university.

In his presidential address, Registrar Dr Nisar A Mir appreciated the efforts of Department to strengthen the academia-industry collaboration.

The Medley Pharmaceuticals Ltd. was represented by its DGM Production, Pervaiz Ahmad, in the function which was attended by all faculty members of the Department.

Prof Mubashir H. Masoodi, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, gave inaugural remarks about the department and highlighted its achievements in the recent times despite the disruptions caused by the COVID19 pandemic. He also congratulated the Gold Medal recipients and wished them best in their future endeavors. Dr Nisar Ahmad Khan, Medley-Coordinator, apprised the chief guest and other dignitaries about the Department’s industrial collaborations, its journey of becoming KU’s only Department with 100% placement record. He also thanked Sahir Khatib (Vice Chairman), S K Sharma (CEO) and Gajendra Kumar (DGM Operations) of Medley Pharmaceuticals Ltd.  for their continuous support and collaboration.

The B.Pharm pass out students who received the Medley Gold Medal included Imra Akbar (2016), Zarka Mushtaq (2017), Hinna Hamid (2018), Mehnaz Showkat (2019) and Nehal Ashraf (2020).
