Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Youth National Conference Provincial President and former Mayor Salman Ali Sagar on Sunday visited Solina ward to take a review of the developmental works there.

“Salman took stock of the progress on the underway drainage works in the ward. The locals of the Samoon Colony Solina expressed gratitude to the visiting NC leader for conceding to their long-pending demands of having a drainage system in their locality, where previously the road was impassable owing to blockage due to few minutes of the downpour. While appreciating the efforts of Sagar, the locals said the drainage for which the work is in progress will make the commute safer and colony tidier,” said NC spokesperson.

Sagar, during his whirlwind tour of the ward made brief stopovers at various localities in the ward, where locals apprised him about the acute supply of electricity.

Interacting with locals, Salman said that developing, managing and maintaining infrastructure and public facilities, water supplies, drains and gullies, parks, recreational centres, markets, cemeteries, transportation centres, public sanitary conveniences and public beaches are high on his agenda.

“It is imperative for any urban space to have safe roads. Drainage has been a long pending demand of Solina residents. My efforts won’t stop here, I will God willingly keep up with my earnest efforts to ensure that our city which is “shared home” gets a facelift and boost in the quality of life of its residents. I’m thankful to the locals for the support. I believe it takes collective efforts to ensure any task. I’m closely monitoring this project and pitching for various others,” he added.
