Srinagar: Three persons were arrested were contraband during naka checking in Bijbehara, officials said Tuesday.
Police identified the arrested persons as Mehraj Ahmad Shiekh, son of Mohammad Ismail Shiekh, resident of Dalgate Srinagar; Mohammad Altaf Baluki, son of Abdul Rashid Baluki, resident of Rainawari Srinagar, and Rayees Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Salam Lone, resident of Prochal Pulwama.
They said that 12 kilograms of ‘Charas’ (cannabis) powder was recovered from their possession.
A case under relevant sections has been registered in this regard and investigations taken up, they added. (GNS)
