DC B’pora distributes Tractor under SMAM, Capex

BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Tuesday handed over two tractors to the farmers of Gurez, sponsored under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, Sub Mission Agriculture Mechanization (SMAM) and Capex budget.

The DC handed over keys to the farmers in presence of Joint Director, Planning, Bandipora, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora, Mujtaba Yahya, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Gurez Farooq Ahmad Joo and other concerned officers of the district.

It was informed at the occasion that the Agriculture department had provided two Tractors to the farmers belonging to Tulail and Bagtore villages of Gurez Sub Division.  Under the scheme, the department pays a subsidy of Rs two lac for each tractor.

The DC informed that this year 17 tractors shall be distributed among farmers out of which 10 tractors under Capex Budget while 7 tractors shall be provided under SMAM.
