Muslims perform last rites of elderly Pandit in Pulwama

Srinagar: Members of Muslim community Sunday performed last rites of an elderly deceased Pandit in Washbugh in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

According to news agency GNS, Kanhaiya Lal, 80, was putting up as a lone family member at Washbugh and died of prolonged illness on Saturday evening.

Soon after news about the death of ‘Kanhaiya’ spread, locals from the area flocked his residence.

The members of Muslim community arranged wood and carried the body to crematorium besides performing other necessary rituals, in accordance with Hindu religion this morning.
