Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 111 fresh Covid cases on Monday, taking the infected number of persons to 3,33,187, while three deaths due to the virus were reported in the Union Territory in the past 24 hours, officials said.
Out of the fresh cases, 92 were from Kashmir and 19 from the Jammu division, the officials said.
Srinagar district recorded the highest of 44 cases followed by 15 cases in Budgam district.
The cumulative death toll in the Union Territory due to the pandemic rose to 4,443 as three new fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours, all from the Kashmir Valley.
Officials also said 96 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 85 from Kashmir and 11 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the officials said there were 49 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union Territory as no fresh case was reported since Sunday evening.
On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 83,836 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K so far to 1,52,52,073.
According to the bulletin, out of 3,33,187 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,165 active positive cases across the UT, including 1,030 in Kashmir and 135 in Jammu division, while as 3,27,579 have recovered and 4,443 have died – 2,266 in Kashmir and 2,177 in Jammu division.
