DHSK inaugurates dengue testing facility at JLNM Hospital

Srinagar: Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK), Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, on Sunday inaugurated a dengue testing facility for dengue patients at JLNM Hospital Srinagar.

Epidemiologist Kashmir Dr Talat Jabeen, RMO JLNM Hospital Dr Bilqis Shah and other senior officers of the Health Department were present on the occasion.

On the occasion, DHSK said now dengue test can be done at JLNM Hospital and it can ease patients to a large extent.

He said Health Department has formulated special teams in other hospitals of the Directorate across all the hospitals in the valley for the detection and treatment of such patients.

Dr Mushtaq said the Health Department is ready to face any eventuality in case of dengue however precautions have been communicated to people and health care workers from different mediums.

“There are some 26 cases of dengue. All of them are travelers. There is no indigenous case from the valley. But we have started treatment facilities in all the hospitals. We have also created special teams in all districts for treatment, monitoring and surveillance of dengue cases,” he said.

He said that people not to panic as the Health Department is fully prepared to deal with any kind of eventuality.

Later, the director visited various sections of the hospital and interacted with patients in the causality, ER room and wards.
