Dir RDD Kmr reviews status of MGNREGA, PMAY-G schemes at Ganderbal

Ganderbal: The Director, Rural Development (RDD) Kashmir, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Saturday visited Ganderbal to review the implementation of RDD schemes and also take on the spot appraisal of various works under execution in the district.

During the meeting, the status of various rural flagship programmes including MGNREGA, PMAY-G and 14th FCA besides progress of works taken up under the Capex Budget (CD & Pyt Sector) and construction of DDC/BDC Offices, RGSA was reviewed in detail.

It was informed that Ganderbal has achieved 100 percent target in respect of person-days generated under MGNREGA. Against a target of 4.22 Lakh person-days set for ending November 2021, 4.40 Lakh person days have already been generated till date.

Moreover, MGNREGA Wages are being released in time among the MGNREGA Job Card Holders and till date Rs 9.34 Crore have been paid besides geo-tagging of assets and Aadhaar Seeding of Job Card Holders is 100 percent complete.

Furthermore, 100 percent of the target has been achieved under PMAY-G. Against the target of 279 units, all units have been completed in time. Similarly, 1244 works have been taken up under MGNREGA and 81 works completed while remaining are at various stages of execution.

Similarly, construction work of two Panchayat Ghars taken up under RGSA has been completed and 7 more are under execution. Moreover, under the Capex Budget CD & Pyt Sector, out of the 40 works taken-up for execution, 19 have been completed and remaining are at various stages of completion. Similarly, under 14th FC, out of the 1895 works taken up for execution, 1674 works have been completed in the District and Rs 23.83 Crore expended so far.

It was further informed that during the current financial year, one DDC and two BDC Offices have been approved for construction.

The Director stressed on timely completion of all taken up works in the district and underscored the need to proactively resolve the issues of the public and advised ACD, ACP, Ex. Engineers and BDOs undertake regular field visits to address issues and concerns, if any, of the people at the grassroots level.

“Gram Sabhas should be regularly organized and PRIs actively involved in the developmental activities in each Panchayat besides the general public should be made aware about the guidelines and benefits of the RDD Schemes under implementation,” the Director reiterated.

ACD Ganderbal, ACP Ganderbal, Executive Engineer (REW) Ganderbal, Dy. Director (Plg) RDD Kashmir, BDOs, AEE, AEs and POs of MGNREGA of District Ganderbal attended the meeting.
