Srinagar: Night temperature dropped at several places across Kashmir Valley with Pahalgam resort recording minus 3.2°C, officials said on Sunday.

Quoting a Meteorological department official, news agency GNS reported that Srinagar recorded minimum temperature of 2.6°C against 2.9°C on previous night.

Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, recorded a low of 2.2°C against previous night’s 2.8°C, the official said.

Pahalgam resort in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 3.2°C against minus 2.0°C on previous night, he said.

Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum of 2.3°C against 3.3°C on previous night, the official said.

Kupwara town of the north Kashmir recorded a low of 0.7°C against 1.1°C on the previous night, the official said.

Gulmarg skiing resort in north Kashmir recorded a minimum of 0.0°C same as on previous night, the official said.

The temperatures have fallen considerably after record rainfall and snowfall in some plains and upper reaches.

The MeT office has forecast mainly dry weather over Jammu and Kashmir in next 24 hours. For subsequent two days, “isolated very light rain/snow” has been forecast.
