J&K HED signs MoU with ICAI at AAAM Degree College, Bemina

Srinagar: To equip students with relevant skills to enhance their chances of employability, the J&K Higher Education Department today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICAI (Institute of Cost Accountants of India) for imparting skill based education to the students at Abdul Ahad Azaad Memorial (AAAM) Degree College, Bemina, here.

The MOU was signed by the Director Colleges on behalf of the UT Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir and CMA P. RajuIyer representing ICAI.

The institution after creating necessary infrastructure for the effective delivery of skill based education formally launched a Certificate course on GST (Goods and Services Tax) on 25 October, 2021 under the mentorship of ICAI being the mentor institution in the hub-spoke model for skill education in Commerce and Management.

A total of 47 students from Commerce and Management disciplines already stand registered for the said course.

A brief ceremony was held at AAAM Degree College, Bemina Srinagar (Hub institution) for the launch of skill/certificate course on GST.

Speaking at the event, Principal of the hub College Prof (Dr.) Manzoor Ahmad Lone stressed on the significance of imparting skill based education to our students.

ICAI Srinagar Chapter Head, CMA Bashir Masoodi in his speech highlighted the objectives and intended outcomes of the course. He also explained as to how the said course is going to improve the employability of the students.

Coordinator skill development expressed his gratitude to all the parties directly or indirectly involved for successful launch of the course.

At the end, the Principal of the college formally declared the course open for students and the class room transaction began thereafter.

Among others, resource persons from ICAI, Coordinator skill development Dr. Sheikh Aftaab Ul  Maroof, Members of the skill development committee, Faculty members of Department of Commerce and students registered for the course participated in the ceremony.
