Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday recorded 80 new coronavirus cases that pushed the cumulative infection tally to 3,30,666, while no fresh deaths were reported, officials said.

Of the new cases, 67 were reported from Kashmir and 13 from the Jammu division of the union territory, the officials said.

At 37, Srinagar district recorded the highest number of fresh cases, followed by eight in Anantnag district.

Moreover, 136 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 89 from Kashmir and 47 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours, they said.

There are 47 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the union territory. No fresh case has been reported since last evening, they said.

According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 3,30,666 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 993 active positive cases across J&K, including 746 in Kashmir and 247 in Jammu division, while as 3,25,247 persons have recovered and 4,426 have died – 2,252 in Kashmir and 2,174 in Jammu division.

Meanwhile, the bulletin on Tuesday today highlighted that 13 districts — Anantnag, Bandipora, Budgam, Doda, Ganderbal, Jammu, Kulgam, Poonch, Pulwama,  Rajouri, Ramban, Samba and Shopian — have achieved 100 percent coverage of first dose Covid vaccine for the age group of above 18 years.

The bulletin also informs that 1,18,331 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours across the UT bringing the cumulative number of doses administered here to 13,306,893. It adds that 99.13 percent of the population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir so far.
