Srinagar: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) leader and Delhi’s Gurdwara Management Committee president Manjinder Singh Sirsa while condemning what he termed as “selective targeting of minorities” in the Valley, Monday said it’s the duty of the majority community to ensure safety of their brethren in these testing times.

Sirsa after visiting the slain Sikh teacher’s family appealed to the religious heads and civil society to unequivocally condemn these “selective killings”

“We have always stood by our Muslim brethren in whatever circumstances. Killing of a teacher by radical elements whosoever they are, is an attack on entire humanity; she was a brave lady who never compromised with her principles,” Sirsa told reporters.

He said those behind the recent killings of five people including four from the minority community be identified and punished accordingly.
