DGP sanctions 46 lakh rupees for various commemorative events

Srinagar: For organising various commemorative events in connection to the Police Commemoration Day being observed on 21st Oct 2021, the Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh, has sanctioned rupees 46 lakh in favour of all 23 District SSsP (including 03 Police District) of J&K.

“Vide PHQ J&K Order No. 3014, rupees two lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of 23 districts SSsP under Civic Action Programme 2021-22, for organizing various commemorative events in connection with the observance of Police Commemoration Day-2021,” said a police spokesperson.

“These programmes will be held from 21st October (Police Commemoration Day) to 31st October (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) to highlight the martyrdom of Police personnel who laid down their lives in service to the nation and its citizens,” the spokesperson said.

“As desired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the DGsP/IGsP conference 2020, Police Commemoration Day 2021 will be dedicated to those Policemen who laid down their lives during COVID-19 pandemic while performing duties,” he said.

“During the period various programmes including exhibition at Abhinav Theatre Jammu, highlighting contribution of Police Martyrs, visit of Police officers to local villages/towns of martyrs, organising Sports events (Volleyball, Football, Kabaddi, and Cricket), Marathons of different categories and culture programmes in all districts. Police Band show at prominent public venues, debate/painting/essay competitions for students will also be organized by all districts,” he added.
